Yellen Cornered on Why Treasury Was Flagging Purchases From Bass Pro, Cabela’s

Janet Yellen, Treasury Secretary, was asked by the House Financial Services Committee on Tuesday why her agency required private banks to flag and provide data about purchases made in America without a warrant. More specifically, at stores such as Bass Pro Shop and Cabela’s. Also, purchases of religious books — including the Bible.

The House Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government (January) revealed that federal law-enforcement officials flagged improperly purchases and words to be monitored or reported.

In recent years the FBI has improperly conducted hundreds-of-thousands of searches and surveillance on American citizens without warrants.
