New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D), according to reports, spent taxpayer money on stadium events including a Taylor Swift concert.

Politico reported on Monday that public records obtained by the outlet showed that he used his taxpayer-funded expenses account to purchase approximately $12,000 in food and drinks during these outings.

The outlet reported that his office has claimed it has asked the state Democrat Party to reimburse taxpayers.

Murphy’s office stated that the Democratic State Committee had been expected to pay for the stadium’s costs, but did not. Murphy’s office said the Democratic State Committee was initially expected to cover the stadium costs but did not.

Politico notes that the expense account cannot be used to cover Murphy’s salary of $175,000 or for personal use.

Murphy’s spokesperson said that his office thought that the state parties would pay the bills at the time, as is normal.

Jennifer Sciortino said that the state took responsibility for unpaid bills as soon as it became clear.

Breitbart reported that Murphy, in June 2022 was accused by state oversight leaders of giving illegal aliens $10 million as stimulus checks from funds derived from the Chinese coronavirus, despite not having been authorized to do so.

Breitbart’s John Binder reported that, as Breitbart had reported last year on the subject, Murphy gave the state’s almost half a million illegal immigrants stimulus checks totaling tens and millions of dollars. The money was paid by American taxpayers. It was intended to provide coronavirus relief to Americans.

According to Breitbart News, Murphy was criticized for taking a vacation in Costa Rica during a time when his state had the highest rate of coronavirus per capita in the nation.

Murphy’s Costa Rica trip marks his third personal vacation away from New Jersey in the last five months, reports the New Jersey Advance. Breitbart reported that in August, Murphy and his family travelled abroad to a multimillion dollar villa with 23 rooms located in Italy’s Umbria Region.

According to the New Jersey Advance, Murphy and his wife took a 3-day trip to Orlando in November around Thanksgiving.
